For the last several weeks, I had talked about the great atmosphere as well as the vibes of 33 lounge. However, after having checked out other venues I would have to reconsider. Although 33 lounge has a great vibe at the two level entertainment complex it seems that there is a new hot spot that wants the coveted title of being called the king of Thursday night entertainment.

The venue is non other than the gypsy bar. The place that once operated under the name simply titled Pravda 116, and provided entertainment four night a week from Latin night, to international night as well as having guest DJ come through from groovefire DJ‘s Todd Hanna , Phil Jacobs, and Mike Hoska, to Rick Naples, DJ/producer/remixers DJ Manolo, DJ play, and many other who have showcase their talent proved that Pravda was the place to be. Now with a new name The Gypsy Bar, you never know who will be the next celebrity/ies to stop by for a guest appearance. From super model Heidi Klum, Kevin Federline, The Pussycat Dolls as well as Tommy Lee you always see a familiar face at this hot spot.

Guest DJ who’s played at this venue are DJ Steve Aoki, DJ Vice and DJ AM just to name few Gypsy Bar has proven that the it could still hold its own hang with the best of them. Thursday nights at the venue is Simply Thursday with DJ INFLUENCE spinning top 40, hip hop, R&B, house and mash up. Along side the great music, beautiful people, and the awesome crowd Frequent fashion show brought to you by Bless By Bless couture, as well as current the  Bean Town Beauties 2009 model search, shows Gypsy bar is the place to for your Thursday nights entertainment. The place to be at & also be seen.

Until next time

While many of today’s local bar/restaurant & lounge are trying to provide various types of entertainment, they are also still trying to find their identities. Having different DJ’s coming in for a 3 hours of audition time in order to determine what right for your clientele, it seem that none of them have found their niche when it come to giving the public what they truly want. Instead of sticking to genre that’s worked for them in the past, they’re constantly trying to fill in the blanks and allow any DJ to spin for the night in question just to fill the void.

Without having a master plan describing what kind of venue they are or even having a theme night in place, it only begs the question what type of venue are we really? 33 lounge however, has truly found their niche, and having guest DJ coming in to showcase their talent doesn’t hurt a bit. So it is without a shadow of a doubt that plush Thursday nights at 33 lounge is not to be missed.

Last Thursday the 4th at 33 lounge it was a packed house with 6 different DJ in the line up. DJ B-Nyce started things off with some old school tracks and great hits of the 90’s for his opening set. Afterwards It was a DJ battle which featured DJ Big AKA (the throw kid) and special guest DJ shorty gold as they went back and forth with a combination of mashed up, top 40, hip hop and club remixes in the main room.

On the lower level it was a different story, and a completely different atmosphere with DJ strict on the opening set with his signature style of upbeat blend of vocal and progressive house beat. It also mark the return of DJ/ Producers/ remixer, DJ Sergio machine and friends finishing the night of with their extreme level of underground house music beat.

With weekly guest Djs and two level of entertainment plush Thursday at 33 lounge is proven to be the hottest spot in town.

So until next time see u at 33.…

Have a safe week.

Hello everyone. it is time for another edition of G’s Blogs, and as always, it is all about 33 restaurant & lounge. For those of you who came down last Thursday know exactly what I am talking about. Hope you all had a great night. However as for those who couldn’t make it to plush Thursday you missed a great night. Although the night started off a bit slow, it quickly picked up within a half an hour.

Team all-stars DJ’s own d big AKA ( the throw back kid) returned for another session. Big started things off some classics hits, and soon thereafter went into his signature style of hip hop and R&B. he also switched things off by dazzling the crown with a nonstop mixture soca and calypso mix as well as some mashed up club remixes. In the lounge however it was a whole different world with two guest DJ’s. Miami’s own dj producer Christian Hurley sending the crown to a different universe with a combination of deep, funky, and uplifting vocal house beat on the opening set Boston own resident DJ/producer/song writer DJ McCre, took over the stage and finished things off dropping Electronica, and progressive house beats during his session.

Plush Thursday night at 33 was a night that is not to be forgotten, as three guest DJ took the stage, showcasing thier talent showing the audience they truly have master their craft.

Until next time I’ll see you at 33.

Have a safe week.

Alright lets face it; its been said in the past, that in order to get your weekend started on the right track, you need to know where the hottest spot in the city is. Man that couldn’t be further from the truth. The hottest spot in the Boston nightlife scene is 33 restaurant & lounge located at Stanhope St. in downtown Boston. The venue has an elegant modern décor and cater to your entertainment needs or pleasure.

Whether you’ve had a long day a work, and want to forget about the hectic, and grueling day of the 9 to 5, have some friends from out of state that came to visit for a couple of weeks, and you want to take them out to a casual place, or u just want to get away to check out the social scene. Maybe, just maybe u want to get your mind right. Sometimes though, it might be that special someone that you really, really have to impress. 33 lounge has what your looking for, to put you in the right mood as well as get your mind straight at this two level entertainment complex. Guest DJ’s drops the hottest tunes on Thursday international nights.

On Thursday august 14th team all-star DJ’s own DJ Big aka (the throw back kid) invaded the venue as he brought down the house by playing the hottest top 40, hip hop and R&B tracks in town. He also, took the crowd back to the old school with classic reggae hit of Shaka Demus & pliers’ “murder she wrote”. also along that time, with was back to back classic hits of Michael Jackson’s “Wanna be starting something” and the all time favorite “Billie jean”. On the lower level, it was pure mayhem featuring rotating DJ’s Producers and remixer’s Virtorrr P, Sergio Machine, and Marlon as they brought back international house beat back to the bean with their extreme level of underground house music.

At 33 Restaurant & lounge, Thursday night was/is pure intercity with guest DJs creating a vibe in their own way. The two rooms are equal, yet completely different in their own unique way. The trendy & casual atmosphere on Thursday nights has made it a sure thing that this venue is a pure success. One that is unlikely to be matched by any other venue. Its hip hop meets house music for international night. So what ever your musical tastes are, be it hip hop, R&B, top 40, classic hits, some of the great songs from back in the days, or if can’t wait for that pounding house beats, you are sure to find it at a venue that gives what your looking for. Until next time. I’ll see you Thursday at 33.

New York Versus Boston Round 1

Ok, so I lived in New York City for 10 years, both in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Ofcourse I did a lot of partying and have been to every spot from "APT" to "Zanzibar". Work brought me up to Bosotn several years ago and well....... the partying continued. One of my biggest peeves about Boston is all of the people riding New York's dick. When it comes to baseball we've got a stiff middle finger waiting for the "Dirty Apple" but for some reason when it comes to nightlife we've got an inferriority complex.

You know what I am talking about, when your standing outside Rumor and your listening to some chatter box going on about how many spots she hits up in New York and how many friends she has in New York and how great New York is. Everytime I go out it comes up at least 5 times.  People come to me and say, "Oh, your originally from New York?" and then they proceed to bash Boston and talk about how much better it would be if we were cruising SOHO with his VIP chums. Of course I stand there, smile, and sip on my drink, but I am realling thinking "You're a fucking asshole, have a little pride in your own nightlife." Many of you are guilty of this shit and you know who you are.

The best was the other night when this girl, I think her name was Tiffany (ok so she was hot), came up to my friends (who happened to be from New York) and starts talking about what a great time she had in New York last week and how she danced her ass off at Spirit. The funny thing is Spirit has been closed for quite some time so I don't know if this was a dream she had or the drinks at Rumor are just that good but that's when I hit the dancefloor laughing.

But before you can begin any debate over New York and Boston we must establish one ground rule.

Yes: we do understand that New York is bigger so any comments related to that should be dismissed because of the "no shit"  [clause 8 paragraph 2 of the party constitution]

Yes: New York serves liqour past 2AM, I think anybody in this city understands that and wishes that it weren't so

But I find it interesting that all of my New York friends have such a blast in Boston.

If we look at this from a different perspective we can see why Bostonians party harder in their own special way

 1. We have real after parties.

Boston - After you leave the club, beat the traffic or jump a cab (you know the 2am drunk parade which I will get to in another post) there is still time to party!!!! That's right, under the cloak of night (and in the winter there is still plenty of night left) scores of party people who won't take no for an answer go to an after party. Whether it's a loft party downtown, a sloppy wine-cheese and blow party in someone's penthouse, crashing at your friends place on their stack of records or simply taking that hottie from the Hip Hop room to News and heading home for a late night screw; Bostonians refuse to say no. If you didn't know most Bostonians party after 2AM, you either weren't invited or someone keeps giving you the wrong address to RISE.... ha ha ha

New York - Its saturday night in NYC and your at the club. Things are getting hot. Your palming her ass so hard there's really no place else to go but "in". You look at your watch and its 2:30AM. She says," My friends from Jersey are here from out of town so we are going to stay out or go to another club." So your like shit, "if I was rolling on "E" this would work but I just want to go out have some drinks and meet some girlies because I've got to meet up with my family tomorrow". So before you know it the sun's coming up and these girls aren't looking so hot any more, you've got to take a 20 minute cab ride or wait 45 minutes for the subway. If you were in Boston you would have joined the drunk parade at 2am and started the "wutch you doin convo." You could have told those girls you were having a little get together and blam.... just like that you would have tripled your productivity.

Ok, so I started the Boston versus New York thing so I suppose I am now guilty of the same pleasure as others.... aww who cares its fun.

See you this weekend on the NeEvent Booze Cruise bitches
